Project story

The exhibition What My Eyes See is the culmination of twelve years of work, brought together in a book that goes beyond photography to explore the history and ethnography of Timor-Leste. Having taken part in the C.A.F.E. educational project (Learning and School Training Centres), Lacló did more than capture moments. He lived in the country, immersed himself in its culture and interviewed figures such as Ramos-Horta and Ana Gomes to provide context for his photographs. The result is a rich, multifaceted portrait of Timor-Leste.
